Now Steve....no doubt you've saved money.....but don't forget the labor costs associated with prepping your fuel, and the beer/alcohol used while prepping the wood.....etc.

Yep, gas prices up everywhere. Ordered home heating oil today, $3.07/gallon. I think that's the most I've ever paid.... We are now at $900.00+ for heating a small house for the season. Almost twice what we used to pay for an entire year.

I think I need Bass to blow out a wall and install a wood stove for us.
gee i almost hit that for todays delivery.

Woo Hoo! 1000 posts, damn we are good

Lainey if you get a wood stove, you too could have 97 degree temps in February! You know you want that

Exactly, in fact I think I have paid less than that for my heat and hot water since Octoberish '07, and my natural gas comes to me with zero effort.

Oh well not zero effort, I do have to walk tot he basement once a month, write down the meter readings and then post them online into my account...

never really look at it that way -

i would not be making any money on the nights and weekends when i was cut and split and stack so i don't look at it that way

heck i think the same thing when i do detail jobs for $100.00 (cheap) - i might make 20.00 an hour while doing it BUT i wouldn't make anything not doing it

I was going to post and ask if gas prices are going up everywhere again?

I paid $3.29 for 87 grade on 90 yesterday and I thought they were just gouging but then when I got back to Bennington the "cheap" place was $3.15! It was just 3.03 a few days ago
Last week I filled up my Ranger for $3.16, Same place this week is $3.36, most places around here are in the $3.40's
