Sorry to hear, Doug.
Thanks Lainey, and of course the damn cross brings up all sort of past baggage because I know how John will be feeling, you see I was just a teenager when my brother was killed in a car accident. And I just realized, my sister (my nieces mom) will also have to drive by the cross twice a day.

I think I need to find an excuse to go see her tonight, I suspect we both deserve a hug...

That's really tough, you should by all means at least call and hopefully get together

There were two bad head on accidents on a road I drove every day. I didn't know any of the people who died but just driving by the spot every day and seeing the cross and numerous flowers put out, was enough to make you think about driving a little more carefully.

The irony is, I can't imagine the parents going out of their way to drive past the accident site, so who are these crosses for???

And of course since I saw it on Saturday, it has aquired more stuff, I suspect after school gets out today it will slowly turn into a shrine.

Sorry to hear that Doug. Yes expect it to be a shrine. A girl went smack into a tree in Pittsfield last summer and that thing turned into a gift shop and florist!

Steve, that log carrier thing rocks. I filled up my garage in about half the time it typically takes me (and didn't lug an overfull canvas carrier at all). Thanks!

Nope, no minivan girls . I met a girl with a Jetta last week and I'm still not quite sure what to make of that. Four doors are way, way too many, but still better than a minivan I think.
