The random, off-topic thread.
Car insurance IS expensive. I priced it with <gasp> Geico and they want way more than I am paying now on the huge multi car plan we have together
When it comes to the point that I have to lose the S or the Civic I will look into the lease take over but things are NOT quite that bad yet
And are looking up financially. I finished 3 web site today I can bill for tomorrow - nothing like being broke to motivate billable hours

I have been poorer and I have been thru worse times in my life. This is where my competitive nature kicks in... me vs. the world... and I don't like to lose.

I think it's time I call them about the bundling.....
Working on the second job too
I applied for the part time bookkeeper position at the library. It would be a great fit. I scan the want ads daily now and look for anything part time.
I can't commit to a full time job because I do have a business and customers I need to support but I'm definitely interested in finding something for up to 20 hours a week
I really need to start going to the "bent can store" here in town

I only pay $17 a month for DVR with my cable - the basic cable is included with my rent, as is electric and heat. There really is not much to trim on expenses.
I am going to quit weight watchers for now; that costs me $30 a month. I don't goto meetings now and am doing fine, I just have been paying because they auto bill my credit card
(Lazy, need to call.)
I could give up my cell phone but would have to pay the HUGE early termination fee so it's cheaper just to keep it, plus that is 100% business write off - as is my phone and DSL. Since most of the apartment is basically all office, NEXT year on taxes I will make out like a bandit

That's a generic name, I forget what the store name actually is
They are everywhere here in VT. One or more in every good sized town
You can get cans of veggies and soup for like 10 cents a piece. Brand name cereal for $2-3 and other stuff like that. Damaged packing, does not "look nice". Usually luck of the draw though, not like a real store that has the same stuff every week.
I usually like to go there, get what I can on my list then goto the real store to get what I could not find. I think they have bread there but not the "special" low calorie stuff I have to buy. I have not been to the one here in town but I know where it is.
Only thing that kills me on shopping is that I can't compromise and buy "junk" food... low calories are too important. Cheap food has more calories usually (ramen noodels, mac and cheese). I've invested too much time and energy in losing weight to give up now. Me against the weight and I will win

No. Major ice storm in Shoreham yesterday... so much ice it took the power out. I don't know if they have it back yet or not. My mom called and begged me not to come today
She's going to come down and get me on Thursday...
She's going to come down and get me on Thursday...I now have a cross on the side of the road I have to drive by each day on the way to work. My niece's old boyfriend lost his 16-year old brother on Friday night, 3 miles north of me on my road. The car he was in lost control on the ice and slid into an oncoming pickup. There were 4 kids in the car, 2 died, 1 in ICU, 1 in stable condition but with lots of injuries. I'm NOT going to enjoy driving by that cross everyday...
