I would be better off Jerry if I had any actual money to pay them with but I have emptied my savings and run up alot of debt since I've been on my own.

I need business to pick up really soon just to keep paying bills much less do any fun things this year.

IF - and that's a real IF - we actually do qualify for a refund, he can have the check - it won't be very big. I will be absolutely THRILLED if I just don't have to pay in.

Ellen, you spent all of 2007 married. Why should you pay a penalty by owing $ by filing separately, which gives Joe the full deduction for the mortgage interest? You still hold many cards in this deal. Push to file jointly to avoid getting stuck with a tax bill. No need for Joe to make $ off of this, especially if you are willing to negotiate in other areas.

Don't be so nice. Remember what happens to nice guys/gals?

I'm not being nice I do want to file jointly... but I don't know if Joe will now.

I will be shocked not to owe quite a bit this year, even filing jointly may not save me

I'm done being nice. I am out of money

OK. If Joe is not willing to file jointly, play some of your other cards......you know what they are, use them. He'll change his mind.

I'm waiting to hear back from him about the taxes message I sent. They may still be w/o power there. I was hoping not to go back to the house after I got my car but I probably will have to in order to do taxes.

Thanks Den Mom

Can't - I got nothing to cut except phone/DSL Or I could quit eating and paying credit card bills... and before you say it, I don't own/finance payments on the S. It's a Lease.

So all I can do at this point is give it back to the lease company - and be totally out all the money I have paid so far and ruin my credit to the point where I will not be able to buy another vehicle for 7-10 years.

I am thinking about the room mate plan at this point.

Things are always slow when you start a business... money has already started coming in again, its just slow because I basically took January off I haven't had a vacation in 13 years so it seemed like a good time

just finished reading "america's cheapest family"

car / insurance is your biggest expense (yes i know you it, who doesn't BUT you can find people to take over the lease and get another one someday - heck they even let you stay on the board and go to secret meets )

reduce all the events - live below your means, pay off the debt asap -

sure i could get another S but i like to eat - i was just thinking how much i envy erick for no cable bill
