Nope, not a lot of work, especially when you jack from just 2 simple locations and not 4 complicated ones.

The primary issue with corner jacking is still how in the heck do you get a jack stand under the proper position of car when you are in fact jacking from that exact same point. You can put the jack stand in a non suggested place, or you can jack from a not suggested place. I fail to see why one would want to do this when you can jack from front center or front back, and not only avoid these safety issues, but also, save time.
There - address that.

That is the type of lift I USED TO HAVE - the one buried under all the crap in the "Ellen's Lift" post a couple months ago

I think it lifted the car 36" or so - a good height to fit in most standard garages and do almost any work you would need to access under the car for other than maybe exhaust work could really suck
Very cool, I just think it would be a great solution for me.

Forgot to say it was affordable also -- $1,000 delivered, minimal setup, hydraulic to raise and lower. I could give you Joe's email - maybe he wants to sell

Mike from s2kca is working to get both groups together for this - he posted into metro area but perhaps there are a few here who might be close enough - it's "only" 3 hours for me, I'm going

I need to hone my karting skills before Nor'Easter so I can kick your asses on Sunday Specially since most of the track attendees will be in Novice and I won't be

OK I'm having too much fun, I have to stop posting now

I constantly wonder about these, because I don't need my cars 6' off the ground to work on them easier, and a lift style like this would not force me into having a 12 or 14 some foot ceiling height.

Those are great for wheel work, which seems to be what you do most. Go for it!

The jack stands do not go on the jacking points but rather the frame rails

Wheels and brakes, brakes are a constant due to the amount of driving schools...
So it sounds like you haveno concerns over that type of design? I'll assume they must have sometype of massive locks to keep it like this X and not like this ___
