The only thing that entitles an S2000 chasis to be named AP2 is the 2.2l engine.

All the other things that changed from MY03 to 04 were changed worldwide. But only the US got the 2.2 engine with a different tranny.
And that's why only in the US the cars were named AP2

There were technical changes and facelift modifications performed almost each Model Year (I'm sure there is a link on here somewhere) w/o changing the prefix AP1.
Only the suffix was changed from AP1-100 to -110, -120, etc.

Ref your question:
no, JDM got the 2.2l engine in 2006.
Also in MY06 the S2k got worldwide the VSA in conjunction with the DBW TB.

After reading this thread, I had a quick question....

With the E-Manage installed with the Boomslang harness, will the car start without any problems (ie .like stock) and not having the E-Manage tuned? Are all the dip switches, switched to the off position then at that point. I just wanted to make sure if I can have it installed right out of the box and drive it to a shop or will I have to get it installed at the shop and have them tune it right away.

Another question would be with the Boomslang harness installed, can I just unplug the 3 connectors from the E-Manage and the car will still run the same. Thanks

I just wanted to clear up the assumptions I had.

You will need to connect to it with a computer and select the F20c settings .

Giles will chime in if any of these parameters have changed .

No , you cannot just unplug the emanage . The injectors and coils and a few other signals go through the e-manage as a in and out signal . They are not T in . If you want to bypass it you will need to unplug it at the ECU .

You can look here at my setup thread Ultimate 101

Do everything up to the throttle setup . The rest if left for your tuner . If you did it correctly the car should start without a issue . If you have a check light after the initial setup , reset the ECU and they start it again to see if it is still there . Sometime it gets triggered when setting up the menus .

Make sure the tuner understands how the E-manage works with the factory ECU . He will need OBD scantool to monitor the fuel trims and such . If he does not understand this he will not be able to help you and your car will not be tuned properly .

If you find your tuner cant get it right . Giles has a new program for those that already own the e-manage and you can send it to us for his pretuned Maps .

Holy Crap!! I just tried it today without even seeing this thread... I was like WTF my car wont start haha, I figured I could just flip all the switches down. I also unplugged the EMU and the car wouldn't start with the harness installed but no EMU, thats what was confusing.

Thanks for the Link Twiztid

I've been reading though this thread and have a question does the boomslang harness still need to be modified to work properly? If not the air/water one is the right one to get right?

If the EU is not set correctly for the application it may send the wrong voltages to coils and injectors and other sensors that it is tapped into resulting in least case fuses blow, worst case engine damage.
