Maybe we can set up some ground rules for discussing politics, so people know the boundary and stuff. Then again, rebels like Steve and Jeff may just go over the line for the heck of it. 
I think we should just stick to polar bears.

You'd be surprised. Lots of political discussion here all during the year, every year. We talk about the economy and who is responsible, we talk about governors and senators, we discuss welfare and immigration. It goes on and on.
