Jim,
I have been studying up on the diff and unfortunately if it is the diff it will be hell trying to get a look at the friction washers that effectively take the place of the clutches. But I do have a boroscope
which we use for inspecting diesel engines and as a result it is too large to fit in a spark plug opening so we can't get a look at the cylinder liners however it will fit inside a rear diff. I would not expect to see much but we could take a look.
I read the other thread on rear vibrations which occur only on turns under load and usually on the outer wheel. My guess is that it is in fact the diff but I am not sure of the solution.
Based on what I have read and the fact that all of the factory fill fluids in the S2000 appear to s*&%k I will be changing my rear diff fluid ASAP (4,500 miles no problems). What I can't yet figure out is to what fluid (book says GL5 or GL6, not sure what the specifics of GL6 are) as it may be too much of a good thing. Time to check on the history of other cars with this type of rear diff I think.
On vacation and bored to tears, hitting the movies tomorrow.
