I'll come right out and say it; the reason we don't have a lot of meets anymore is because we don't have a core community that others want to be a part of. Back in the day, people here took the effort to get to know one another and actually became friends. We posted on here all the time and talked about everything. New people wanted to get involved because they could see it was a good community - something others would want to get involved with. The original moderator, Glenn, was responsible for building that community. He was a real cheer leader and encouraged participation at all levels. There were no clicks back when he was running things, just one big club. He made everyone feel welcome and his positive attitude was contagious. I hope we can see something like that again, but it sure does take a lot of work.

The bigger meets like Mohawk and Fall Crawl are extensions of the smaller get togethers.
Good luck New England.

Hey Levi. I thought you retired. Still getting up early?

I agree Bill. There is a lot of work to be done, and I'm not sure folks have the interest or time to do so. The forum needs to become more active and once people see that, there may be more meet planning and folks attending.

There is no doubt there is a new group of folks here, and the interests may be very different than those of the folks from the earlier times, but given the good times that have been had with S2K folks, I figured it might be worth a thread or two.

PS I'd much rather goof off here than on Facebook.

I know I'm going get slack for this one but I also suggest we do a random chat thread to get more involvement from those who don't regularly post new threads. I think part of the reason it didn't make it last time was because of the guy who started it.

...
I'm not sure who you are upset with, but did you even post in the thread last time?

Not upset with anyone at all, it just wasn't received well last time the random talk thread was brought up

I'm sorry. I don't remember that discussion. I thought you were saying that you wanted to be CO and the person who started the discussion somehow prevented you from getting the position. I misunderstood.

Thanks, Charlie, but I think we need a younger more car oriented person than a Grandma.

I enjoy the forum and will try to help keep it more active. I'll also make an attempt to plan some social meets if the participation increases. Ryan and I had discussed a meet in CT at the Gillette Castle last year and we never got around to it. Maybe in 2012!
