I have been here what are you talking about
.. Hi Lainey
And Dibi and I were talking about this. I have to get ahold of Fitzy I would like that one to be Dibi. I would like to still give Ryan the chance if he wants it. not sure if his house is done or not or if he was truely interested. I have offered up my spot many times but no ones wants my duties .. LOL

The Community Organizer is something of a social director. They are usually someone who is active in organizing events and get-togethers in the local area. Because of this active participation they are well known to the community and have the confidence of the community.
COs (as we call them) are given special privileges to allow them to steer the dynamics of the group but more importantly their intended role is to organize events and to act as a liaison with S2Ki.com to help with developing our global community. They speak on behalf of the community to get things like badge permissions, have troublesome accounts suspended or removed and promote and advertise larger inter-community events and activities.
COs are responsible for maintaining the content quality standards of their forums in a manner consistent with all other S2Ki.com forums and to encourage participation of their members in the broader s2ki global community. They can do this by moving posts of broader interest such as technical topics to the appropriate main site forums and also by promoting events from outside the community.
Except in times of extreme need, S2Ki.com does not appoint Community Organizers. We want your peers to nominate you and therefore you have become a CO with the help of your local community members. You are the lead person within your organization. You are the one respected by your fellow members. Sometimes things change within an organization and someone steps up to help out or take over. We make those changes by request. If we receive a concern from fellow community members about the CO, we will then step in and help out.
All forum communities must be requested, and we recommend you have a decent number of participants to make the community forum worthwhile.
The role of a Community Organizer is:
* Developing a club "Community"
* Establishing a club name with input
* Maintain the membership list
* Contact potential members you see on the street and online *build the club)
* Develop relations with local sponsors and dealerships
* Take the lead in organizing local or community events
If you are a large community or small, there is nothing written in stone that says you can not have help. A Co-Community Organizer can help with tasks, and event planning. It is better to ask for help than try and do everything yourself and risk burnout in the process. As a CO you should be dedicated to the community and the S2000. You will have a sense of accomplishment by organizing events and having your club membership flourish.
It is also something we will have to vote on again . I cant just apoint them per the rules :-)

Scott, I've seen you around these parts. I know you're busy, and thankfully I think your babysitting duties are no longer needed. I know you've offered your spot in the past. I'm not sure of Ryan's current status. Hopefully he'll fill us in. Fitzy is a nice guy, but he no longer has an S, rarely posts here, and I don't think he ever organized a meet, nor kept the board active.
Time for some new blood and I hope some may be interested. As we've long said, anyone can organize a meet, don't need to be a CO to do so. Also if anyone wonders, a CO does not have to do everything around here, but a presence on the board would be good.
PS Ownership of S2KI is changing, not sure if that changes things up a bit as far as CO's are concerned.
We do need some help but I think it's going to take more than new or different COs. We've tried that for the past two years with little to no change at all. It's really got to be a group effort to bring it back to where it once was. Everyone on here can host or hold meets, doesn't take a CO to organize it. I'm no help I was so busy this summer I barely drove the car, and haven't frequented the forums much. I would like to step up and plan some more drives next summer as well as the trip to the dragon. I think it's going to take a couple of us to get together over the winter and plan some things out for next year. I would like to see a bi-weekly meet over the driving season and maybe one a month on the winter months.
I know I'm going get slack for this one but I also suggest we do a random chat thread to get more involvement from those who don't regularly post new threads. I think part of the reason it didn't make it last time was because of the guy who started it.
We have some great members on this board most of who I have had the pleasure to meet, I think we can all pull together to get it going again!

Random chat thread works, any thread with activity would be a good thing. Your dragon trip was well received. Hope more folks can join you this year.
Get togethers of all kinds are good. It's been difficult to get new folks to come out. Of course, logistics figure into this. We no longer have the time to drive an hour + for a dinner meet, and I'm sure it's the same for others.
Toss ideas out there folks. The floor is open!
I'm here and visit the site often in the evenings. Just haven't seen much to comment on. I've settled into the new job nicely and am now able to better manage my time off. Hopefully the condo will sell in the near future and open up some play money. The house is not reaaaaaly done but livable and now just working on it as I find motivation.
This group does have some solid members though they are dwindling - many have simply moved on from the forum or just from the "sporty 2 seat car" life. These solid members don't need "help" organizing.
I've noticed quite a shift towards many newer members in the past year, though it seems when meets happen there are few takers. Not sure of the direction this new group will take yet. There have been quite a few threads for meets this past season, even from newer members, but they've seemed to flop. I'm sure there are many reasons - likely the higher gas prices and the more time people have to put into their jobs in this failing economy are making it difficult and play a large part. I know this year I have thought twice about traveling to a meet knowing it'll be a $50+ day before food. (can't wait to sell my condo)
I'd like to revisit the Brewery drive idea this coming season - I'm sure JSWhaler can give some insight as he started planning this before the accident. Also, a S2Ki snowboard/ski meet is in order this winter though that revisits the cost issue again.
Not sure where Fitz has been... Dibi def makes a good regional choice being in MA - Scott being north and me being south though I'm sure no one truly cares what position in the forum they hold. Participation is what we need.
A once a month meet would be cool. I know the metro guys do it on weds almost every week. Of course metro is closer together geographically. A once a month tech day hosted by a new person say the first Saturday of the month would keep ppl active and aware. We could do tech, swap parts etc. Also a mid week once a month also rotating geographically would be nice too. Maybe in the summer a once a month designated autox meet or track day with scda ( no hardtop required). Obviously a trip to the dragon would be nice.
