Vibration = Mounts?
So, I have been noticing this vibration when cruising at 75MPH. I can also feel it sometimes when driving around town on bumpy roads. It's like something's loose towards the front of the car. The other thing I have noticed is when shifting from 2nd to 3rd at 9K rmp, the front end of the car twitches to the right a bit. Yet another problem is that shifting into 3rd/5th seem to be pretty vague sometimes and the shifter shakes a bit more than I recall.
I had the alignment done recently but that did not fix the problem nor did they find anything wrong with suspension. So, I'm wondering what else could it be. Some searches here point to motor/transmission mounts. Now I need to figure out how to check them? I tired the test where you try to move the car with ebrake engaged and see how much the engine moves. Sitting in the passenger seat I can see the left side of the engine move up a bit as I try to move the car forward. In reverse, I can see the left side move down the same distance. The right side does not seem to move much. The movement is probably 1/2 inch or so, could be an inch, can't really tell.
So, is there a better way to check the engine and transmission mounts? Visually, I can't see anything wrong with them. Is this something I can do at home or a lift will be needed?
Thanks!

I had the same problem, the simple fix for me was upping my tire pressure in the rear 2 lbs per tire. Cured the high rev shift twitch lickity split. It may help you or may not but its worth giving it a shot. it cost nothing to do.
Hello everyone, now that the forum is back, let's see if anyone has any other ideas.
Meanwhile, I have had the mounts checked and I've been told they are ok. Tires have been rebalanced but this did not make a difference.

Can you please clarify if you feel this vibration also on your steering wheel? If yes, I would recommend to check first the balance on your wheels and also if they are bend, unless of course they balanced your wheels before the alignment.

Thanks for the replies, I have been away on a business trip and just got back.
Tires are stock S02s with 32 psi, I also tried 35 psi with no difference.
I don't think the vibration is felt in the steering, I will pay more attention next time I drive anyway. I had the tires balanced after the alignnent just to be sure, even changed the front tires (has a spare pair with more tread) to rule them out. None of this made a difference. Not sure about a bent rim, I would think they would have caught it when balancing?

That did not help.
