Default Rain...

Given the weather currently I am stuck in a parking lot waiting for the rain to stop. Anyone else with a bottomfeeder intake wish all of this rain would just go away?

Unless you fully submerge the filter in a pool of standing water, you've got nothing to worry about...

I found a comptech intake in town, going to grab that and put it on. My S came with the AEM v2 intake from the previous owner. While it does make a great growl it also whistles a little bit. That with the monsoon season is enough to make me switch to a different style intake.

I have the same worry with my Teg, with an original "Iceman" CAI. I remember one time getting caught in a real gully-washer down in El Paso - rolling down the UTEP Shuster exit. Shit load of water at the bottom and no way to stop! So I gunned it to get some speed, put it in neutral, shut the engine off and hoped for the best. After doing a spectacular splash in about 18" of water, I rolled out of the pool, turned the engine back on and with a big sigh of relief, kept on motoring

I saw a guy gun through a huge puddle in FL. He hydrolocked the motor. I drove the S through that same puddle before him, nice and easy and no problems.

The water was up to the bottom of my intercooler, I just did not gun my car.
