Default WTT: AP2 trans for AP1 trans

Hey guys,

I have an AP2 transmission that I'd like to trade for a low-mileage AP1 trans. The trans I have came from Kyle...who said it needed to be opened up because there was a loose component inside. Apparently, if you remove one of the exterior fasteners, something on the secondary shaft can fall off the end, or something to that effect. I don't know the mileage, but it has been stored inside since I have had it. I'd be willing to help open it up and take a look, if someone is interested in trading an AP1 trans for it. I cannot use an AP2 transmission due to my current racing rules.

Anyone have a low-mileage spare or know of one? I'd also be interested in a low-mileage diff, but those are rare too!

Jake

That's a pretty good deal for someone to jump on... the AP2 tranny is a nice upgrade for the AP1 due to carbon synchros and the gear ratios being slightly different. Bummer you can't use that tranny Jake.

I wish I could use it. The AP2 trans would be a perfect match to the RPM range of the AP1. Honda should have switched the ratios between the AP1 & AP2.

I know he is out of the area, check with Puddydad on what he may have.

Just a thought.

I have one. It needs a new rear oil seal. It's a easy fix I just haven't had time or need to do it. Ill be in new Mexico this weekend and the last weekend of June.

Is it still in your car? If yes, any chance you'd be willing to roll it into my garage so I can compare backlash and bearing noise with my current trans? If no, ccould I take a look at the trans sometime?
