Hello there,

This weekend I will be searching for a car with my father.
He's very interested in the Acura TL Type-S, but is hesitant to purchase the car due to the price.
I'm afraid he may revert to a standard TL, or another Audi unless we find a good deal on a 2008 Type-S.

Please let me know if anyone is a salesperson, with a good deal available, near Northern NJ (we're in Essex county).

Did you try sending e-mails for quotes to all the surrounding Acura dealers? That's how I bought my wifes MDX. Did everything via phone and fax. Arrived at the dealership and was out the door in 30 minutes.

BTW everyone, I just realized that Acura is redesigning most of their lineup for 2009.
According to some "confirmed" rumors from online sources...
The TSX will be getting the 2.7L Turbo, from the RDX.
The TL standard will be getting the current Type-S engine.
The TL Type-S will be getting the current MDX 3.7L engine.
and...
Their may be a V8 coming out for the RL.
and all Acura models will have the SH-AWD available!


Don't quote me, this is what I've read on forums and whatnot online.

I doubt most of that is true. the MY09 TSX with the RDX k-series 2.3L Turbo MIGHT be a possibility, has been talked about, nothing yet confirmed. 2009 will bring some changes...(possibly the new redesigned V8 NSX for MY2010). The RL with a v8 has been a hot topic for such a long time....drive it, it doesnt need a v8.

Well, seems like regardless of the possibility of new models for 2009, we're still going to be searching for a new car on Saturday.

The next TL should have sh-awd. I would wait for that
