Any good windshield install place on LI ?
Has anyone here on LI replaced their windshield? Got a crack like 1.5 feet in length on my CTR, so it seems like repair is out of the question.
Anyone know where they do quality glass installs? I had normally went with mobile Safelite in the past but this was for simple repair jobs, not an installation which is more involved.
I only replaced my glass once on my late S2000 at a body shop I trust, but they no longer do glass work unfortunately.

Replaced windshield x2
I had to replace my windshield twice.
The first time I used a highly recommended body shop in Riverhead. Following the installation, my dome light no longer worked.
The second one was by safelite. They came to my job and did an excellent installation. I know a lot of people don’t like to use safelite but I have no complaints.

My glass was covered under the insurance, but the total bill for the glass and OEM seals (a must with OEM glass) with the install was $950.00

They came right to my house to do the install, had it done in 30 mins

Yo so you got the oem glass too? I have a few rock chips and the visibility itself kinda sucks looking threw the glass.... Maybe I'll call Geico and put in a claim?

I'm not sure that I would trust Safelite to do the install. Problem is that with a poor install, they will scrape off the old adhesive and possibly damage the surface, not fully seal the windshield. Water will leak in, get trapped, and it will start to rust.
I would also like to hear some recommendations for good quality installers. I've even thought about using a bodyshop for an install.

I had the windshield on my 2021 Civic Type R replaced with OEM parts at a body shop I trust, and he brought in a calibration guy he uses. Billman recommended Elrich Auto Body over in Riverhead/Aquebogue almost 2 decades ago, and have been using him ever since. The only condition was that I had to pay him directly and I had to get reimbursed by insurance, as he's fed up with the insurance companies. Can't blame him as they don't adjust labor rates for different areas of the country and cost of living. Geico had no issue with OEM parts usage as this is a 2021 car with sensor/camera components.
The post-scan report checked out. But on the pre-scan, there was a fault with the ABS/TCS/VSA part... not sure what that's all about. It passed the post-scan though.
