Default Deceleration "buzz"

Hello everyone. Happy New Year.

I was hoping some of you could take a quick listen to this YouTube clip and give me your opinion on what you think is causing this buzzing sound while decelerating in 3rd & 2nd gears.

This video clip is not mine, but I am experiencing the exact same sound. I should also mention that a couple of days ago, for the very 1st time -and for no apparent reason- I had a really difficult time trying to get my car into reverse. I drove it around for a while and it worked fine. I still have the buzzing sound, though.

Hoping one of you (coughBillmancoughcough) can take a look at the vid and give me some input. Thanks!

Forgot to mention- this is a bone stock 2006 s2000 with 43,000 miles.

Mine did this for a breif time, it was the U channel under the steering wheel, not completely torqued. Would happen sporadically. does it sound like its coming from your knees?

If it is and only happens on deceleration in 2nd or 3rd, likely your dash bezel has been removed at one point, and the steering column not completely torqued

I guess it kind of does sound like it's coming from behind the dash area, but I don't think it's the steering column.

One other detail I should mention is that I've noticed that when I shift at high rpms, I can feel the clutch pedal vibrate slightly as it gets to the lowest point, before being released.

Clutch buzz, guaranteed.

Likely some type of clutch disc damage as the car is not an 00-01.

Billman- thanks for your input. If one of those torsional coil springs in the disc became loose, do you think it could cause that type of sound?

I was actually going to text you later this morning regarding setting up an appointment to have you examine my car, but I guess I can just ask you here instead.

I saw in another, older thread, you mentioned that you happened to be working on a car and while you had the oil pan off, you were able to use a small dental mirror to look at the thrust washers and make sure you they were installed properly. Do you think you could take a look at mine? Even if they turn out to be fine, simply putting my mind at ease would be worth the money.

Let me know. Thanks.
