I count myself among those Totally by choice though... if I gave up the S I would easily have an extra $600-1000 a month (spent on meets, hotels, track days, gas, car payment and insurance).

But if I give up the S I will have no reason to work or get up in the morning

Work hasn't really slowed down here (fourth largest Investment bank, you can figure this one out) for my group (application development for the back office). But the daily headlines that we make makes me uneasy. Many people jumping ships already. I'm trying to find a life vest.

I work for Hanjin Shipping so for me, the worload is insane.
(1) Laying off 85% of the office
(2) I do US exports, so as our $ drops, other countries tend to buy more goods manufactured or procured in the US.
(3) Imports to US drop, so necessity to balance profits leads to increases in our export rates --> constant service contract revisions.

I also work in a high end steak house and business is DEF down!
