How much would it cost to paint a door?
How much would it cost (roughly) to paint just one door around the metro area? (i.e. the passenger door) Want to know whether I'm looking at 200 or 1000 bucks.
My passenger door got a few scratches and some of them are exposing the metal too. Deciding whether to go the cheap route and touch up those spots, or paint the whole thing properly. No dents or anything, just need new paint.
Thanks

well it depends a a few things:
First, how good do you want it? Remember that quality is almost always more expensive. A shop can just spray the door without taking out the handle, belt moulding, or buffing it when done for cheap. But if you want a "like new" job it's going to cost a bit more.
Second, where the scratches are. I see that it says you car is Sebring Silver, if that's the case you may need to have an adjacent panel blened for proper color match. A simple fender or quarter panel blend can add a couple hundred to the bill.
Lastly, if you decide to do touch up, it is going to look like hell. When you use touch up on a silver car, the paint always lays down darker. You can get away with touching up black and making it look good, silver isn't possible.
I'm guessing if it's just the door that needs paint, epect to pay about $500 for a top quality job. If the fender and quarter panel both need to be blened expect around $1000.

Thanks for the advice guys
Ya, touch up paint would look a bit ... hmmm ugly. But I just don't want the doors to rust because of exposed metal. The exposed metals part are small (like within an inch). Got two of those. The other scratches (12 inches long?) are just surface scratches -- like you see white lines on the paint, but no metals exposing. I'll see what happens from here then ...

Just repaired a vicous key scratch, front fender, through the door across the door handle naturally, ending at the tip of the rear fender.
Cha Ching! 1500 bucks.

Your premium shouldn't be affected from things like hit-and-run and vandalism right? Or no ...
Damn, you can almost paint the whole car with that kinda price!
