Lake Placid Recommendation
I'll be coming up to Lake Placid in early March, staying at the Lake Placid Resort, and would appreciate any 'local / inside' knowledge on good bars and restaurants.
We'll have about 12 people (late 20's thru early 40's) who will be skiing during the day but would like some good night life.
Any recommendations would be appreciated . . . good steaks are a plus. Live music is also good.
Thanks in advance.

The Lake Placid Resort is a really nice place. Being a small town you'll quickly learn the best places to go for night life...depending on the crowd that is in town at any given time it tends to be much more lively on weekends than weekdays. After the storm that is supposed to come early this week the skiing should be fantastic. Have a great time...Levi

I think the name of the best place I went to eat was VARANDA. It is on this hill across from a hotel. Also the next best place I went was FREESTYLE CUISINE. It was very good PH# 1-518-523-5900 or www.FreestyleCuisine.com Have fun, I did.

Nightlife try the "Cottage" there is also a disco by the one flashing light in town. All restruants are good some cost more than others. Villa Vasilla is a racer pasta favorite.
