I'm pretty sure MY 03 has 2 pegs. i haven't been in my car in a while so i could be wrong. but i'm almost 90% sure.

hmm now that I think about it, MY03 is almost an AP2, except for the engine. So you drive a wannabe AP2

[QUOTE=Gilly_S2KFreak,Apr 8 2010, 09:38 AM] Also, the OP didn't have to drill into his floor board.

Yes that is a downside. But considering some AP1s have only one (or none apparently?) peg, you are just adding the hole that everyone else has already.

I'll look for the exit point of the screw as well if you think the hole might be a problem. I would assume like most cars there is rubber under there, but maybe not in the S2K?
I'm really not sure. there will be some type of under coating obviously. But in most cars these days (hell even in the 70's with muscle cars) the floor panel is literally just a piece of thin (1/8th inch???? maybe???) steel with maybe a cross brace or two under it. Not sure the exact structure under where the holes would be, but if i were you i'd hop under the car and see if you drilled thru. Perhaps you need to put some more undercoating on to prevent road spray from leaking into you're carpet

I found a picture on another forum, MY 02 and 03 have two pegs for the mat.

Aash, As for driving a wannabe ap2, why do you think i have the better looking AP2 Front and Rear Bumpers????

Sorry to bring up such an old thread, but I can't help it. I remember this thread from all those years ago when it started and I remember being inspired. I can also remember an upstate drive (probably either a Mad Russian drive or one of the Heritage drives) where I saw the simplicity in person and decided to make one for my car. 7 long years later and I've finally gotten around to picking up some flat bar, cutting it, drilling it, and making my 12 year old floor mats stretch nice and flat again.

I'm not sure how much of a problem the "bacon" floormat poses for people, but I just wanted to say thanks to Jeff for thinking up the idea and sharing it with the community....even if I am almost a decade late and probably missed several other fixes for this "problem".

Lol, I just bugged Bugsy about one of his posts from 2010 too - how to get a clean install on the trimmed interiors around a harddog roll bar
He`ll live forever in these threads
Thanks again Bugsy
