Over the last few weeks, I have been receiving emails from Motorsports Enthusiasts HPDE for events at Lightning and Thunderbolt. I checked out the website, and they have quite a few events at these New Jersey tracks. I sent in an email with my "qualifications" and am "approved" as a driver, so I'll look into it further. No apparent issue in driving the stock S2000.
I drove Lightning last year. Despite my problems with seized brakes, I very much liked the track.

Heading out to NY Safety Track tomorrow.
The 3 day vintage event at Summit Point was completely cancelled due to flooded conditions and more rain in the forecast.

Left home at 5:30 and got to LRP by 7AM. I was a hot mess. Arrived having forgotten to pack my GoPro and with the sinus pressure that has been haranguing me for the last month. I also volunteered for tech. Wasn’t sure if I’d be able to last the whole day. I also had to be home for dinner so decided I’d do three sessions and then head home.
I was assigned EJ Smith who I know from autocross. He asked me what my goals were and I informed him about my health situation and said I may need some hand holding the first session as I knocked the cobwebs off while also figuring out if I could still drive with the pressure; and if he decided to ride out another session that I wanted to work on driving offline.
After the first session, the confidence came back. I don’t what it is about driving on track or even driving the S2000, but it makes me feel good no matter what I am going through. The second session we worked on driving offline and I went out the final session by myself. No timed laps or video. This was just to prove out if I could handle the rigors of a track day in my current shape with the meds the doctor prescribed. When I last saw the doctor he said he didn’t see any issue with me driving on track. It turns out this was the best medicine. I drove the BRZ back home with a smile on my face.

Next up is a TNiA event at Lime Rock on Thursday. Greg, Sean (bror jace), Rico (Two00si) and I will be attending.
Plan is to work half a day and leave at 12:30 so I can get to the track by 2PM. Hoping the weather holds up. This event will be a precursor to the PWC races at Lime Rock on Friday, Saturday and Monday.
It should be fun as we will probably get to see some of the race cars there.

Go full screen, then stop at 3:45, then 3:58 and again at 4:10.
John was pretty light hearted about it - all things considered.

im glad he is ok and in great spirits and has no plans of listing the car.
That was one big kerblammo in the words of David Hobbes.
John - get that car fixed buddy and bring it back on the track. Love the body work. Shiv keeps telling me about it. It looked so planted on track and all that aero seems to be helping a lot. Nice work. Now start manufacturing it and selling kits for the kids.
