oh! yes I just at you again
All we have here are words, no tone of voice or body language to work with, so all I can do is read your reply and go with what the words mean, and you're right, had you actually been more specific and clearly defined your thought it would have been better received.

Get shaft drive and hydraulic lifters and it is no worse than a car. (Other than tires.)
I swear you are just trying to push me over the edge...
I'm trying to sell the Nighthawk silly, I don't need no reminders about how low maintenance that bike is because of those 2 things.

I pity the fool erm! bimmerphile that buys one of these

You are right, what a headache that car is going to become
I see a whole new wave of people who will not be happy with BMW in 5-years
On the bright side, this will give the BMW forums a ton of stuiff to complain about...

Tales of douchebaggery on the roads:

So I'm driving in this morning, and I reach the portion of my drive where a road is shut down for construction. It only tacks another 2-3 minutes onto my drive, so no big deal. I'm coming up to the light to turn right onto the detour, when I notice the car ahead of me that was also about to turn right come to a complete stop. She had to because a cop had decided he just wanted to violate the right of way rules coming from the opposite direction and turn left in front of her.

I continue on to the next light, where I have to go straight and the cop is turning left. The light turns green, the cop inches out into the intersection. There is NO traffic coming at all. He makes the slowest left turn in the history of mankind. This light is notoriously short times, so it is yellow almost before I even get into the intersection. I have had it with this idiot at this point, I drive over onto the shoulder around the cop and give him a 6200 rpm blast from the Banks exhaust on my way by.

F'n idiot.

I haven't been happy with BMW in the last 10 years. What's another 5 years of hatred?

I'll never, every buy another Bimmer. All of them were seriously flawed.
Essentially I hear ya, although I have never owned one so I can't say your words exactly, I just don't ever see myself buying one of their cars/suvs.

Although, Jeff, I will admit, if I was ever to buy a bike other than a Honda, there are only 2 other brands I would go for, one being BMW, the other of course Ducati...

IN!
Hey Mark- good news, I spoke to Bond, James Bond last night, and we know you will be coming a long distance, so Mr. Bond has been gracious enough to offer you full VIP hospitality services, it seems he has agreed to let the dog sleep in the house so you can have the dog house.

Have you seen the latest "what you want in the AP3" thread?
I'll have to go pull it and post a link here.
I agree with ya about BMW, and when I read about what people want from a AP3 I just have to wonder why they don't just go buy a 370Z or a Z4...

The VFR is essentially the same. An extra 10 minutes every once in a while to lube the chain. An extra $200 for a chain and sprockets a couple of times during the life of the bike. A little more hassle to bleed the brakes due to the linked system. As far as valve adjustments? From what I have been reading, I don't plan to do one during my ownership period.
