17 Year Old Boy Tasered at Ballpark

Google for crying out loud.
My dad is a recognized figure in the Canadian Martial Community, used to have a chain of karate/jujitsu schools, and performed training for Police forces around Ontario, Canada. In years past they did lots of training with stun guns and tasers and nobody died. We never heard of anyone dying. Having said that, these cops-in-training were in better physical condition than most of the general public.
But my point is that death is not commonplace. And you didn't point us to anything that supports the "even police die in taser training."

More than a dozen Canadians have died from being Tasered. Why doesn't that concern you?

I'm not trying to defend the kid, I just think the cop got all pumped up on adrenaline and over-reacted.
How is that over-reacting?
Security at a ballpark is there to minimize disruptions and allow the game to continue on for the rest of the paying fans. Who's to say how much longer that kid could've zigged and zagged for? It's not their job to be able to chase down every person, it's their job to be able to subdue them safely. And that was done.
Now give the little punk a hefty fine so he thinks twice the next time.
I'm pretty much done with you, Harpoon.
I'm not disputing that people die from being tasered in Canada, USA, or elsewhere. Listen to the words that follow here: You claimed that police die in taser training.
I'm also going to bring something else up. I've never been tasered, shot at, or "taken-down" by the police. Know why? In all likelihood because I've never given them a reason. In all these cases of being tasered, the perp does something to instigate. Then we sit back and judge the degree to which the response was proportionate. I'm not excusing anyone for using too much force. Police need to consider it to be a very small-calibre weapon, in terms of potential for leathality.
And you are acting like a smartass, you respond with "let me google that for you" to respond incorrectly to questions that weren't asked or comments that disputed something else. Learn the difference between "acting like," and "are."

Good thing it wasn't a Blue Jays game then, huh?

Nah, any excitement at their games makes me happy. Let's be real here, Canadian police would politely ask the person to stop and leave and they'd comply apologetically, issuing a national apology, followed by a voluntary donation to spouses of KIA police.

Cops who get trained to use the Taser have to get Tasered themselves before they can use it. Cops have died in that training. It isn't a riskless situation.
That said, you made a statement that cops die in training from using tasers... and then completely failed to back that up with any evidence... and Mikey called you on it. Quit acting like he's in the wrong here.
Take a look at the wikipedia article you linked to.
There is only ONE reference that says there are 100+ deaths, and that doesn't specify
-when
-where
-or ANYTHING ELSE
http://www.yourlawyer.com/articles/read/11882
^ that is the site the wikipedia article references. Guess what? That article cites NO sources. It's just a webpage. That is not evidence.
Next up, we have an actual published scientific study that found no deaths directly caused by tasers in their sample of 1000 cases. Note that this one is, in fact, what we would call *real scientific evidence.* http://www.physorg.com/news111080086.html
Find us a report about cops getting killed in taser training.
Until then,
Mikey > you
Much love.
