Funny, I didn't think that could really happen. I remember spending 10 minutes trying to open my sister in laws silver civic at LAX to realize that it was someone elses car. The key didnt' work in my case.

Two of my friends (each had a Jeep) found that their keys were interchangeable. One a Wrangler, and one a Cherokee.

At my previous job we had some consultants who would fly in every week for work and they would all get rental cars. One night one of the guys accidentally took the wrong car back to his hotel. Not only did the two cars look exactly the same, but they also used the same key. This was only about five years ago. They were GM cars.
