Acura RS-X details, no s2000 engine!!
Rahvis,
I think you missed my points all around. When I said "just build on what you've already got" I was talking about the design and not the chassis. The design of the Integra has remained consistent and appealing for three generations by retaining its Integra DNA. Each iteration still looks like the last Integra but updated styling accents and cues keeps the design fresh. Granted, the current design has grown long in the tooth, but it hasn't aged into an Edsel. It's still nice and it was smart for Acura to base the RS-X on 3G's design cues.
As far as my point about the Eclipse, I think your opinion merely reiterated what I was saying. The new Eclipse is nothing like the last generation--regardless of who builds it. And it sure as heck ain't no improvement over the last one. As such, it's lost the sense of what made an Eclipse an Eclipse in the past. Subsequently, they've lost a whole group of kids in this generation who will probably now buy a Celica, Honda, Acura, Focus, Neon, or SE-R.
Just my opinion.

I'm with s2kali, they messed up the eclipse package by takin away the eclipse identity. The version it replaced was a pretty decent looking car, but the best thing about the eclipse was the GS-X which was turbo, four-wheel drive. How many cars that were priced under 25-30k could say that. Now, all they have is a V6, which they say is faster but with the GS-X, you had so many more upgrade options, and I repeat, it was a four-wheel drive car so the handling was excellent. The RS-X doesn't look all that great to me, but the 3G didn't either when it first came out, and I ended up loving that car after awhile. So, we all may just end up getting used to the RS-X, like we did with the old integ's headlights, but we may not. It's not like the stook's instant appeal, drop dead gorgeous good looks, love at first sight kinda deal, but we may grow to love it.
Actually, in regards to the body styling, and rebuilding on that. Just my opinion, but....I'm glad they changed it. I was actually getting tired of the Integra's looks. I couldn't stand the round lights up front, and I'm giddy as hell that the car's different. I'll admit, it's no S2K...but I think Huyto's right, and that it'll grow on people...
