What I should have added was that WHILE we are going after every last member of the Taliban, Osama and the rest of the bastards, if we happen to kill a bunch of civilians, ooops. We will stop when we get parity on the innocent civilians killed. But we will not cower in the corner, afraid to kill innocents, simply because we might. Seems fair to me.

I'm not sure I completely agree. Our absolute intolerance for the loss of innocent life for any reason is what sets us above those bastards in the first place. We should retaliate, but only against those responsible and if in the process innocent lives are lost...we should mourne them like we would our own. That is what will make us "right" and them (whoever they are) "wrong".

From stratfor.com:

Seems the Talisban is running scared now:

"In a statement Sept. 12 Taliban authorities offered to negotiate about the future of Saudi dissident Osama bin Laden if the United States could provide proof of his involvement in the recent terrorist attack on the United States, Kyodo News Service reported, although the group has made similar statements in the past. Reuters reports that the Taliban has beefed up security at government offices and closed the main airport in Kabul after it endured a rocket attack by anti-Taliban forces overnight. 1927 GMT, 091201"

It may seem "fair" to you, but innocents are just that.

Negotiate? Forget that! I say that we move our military in, take over the country, and it becomes a US occupied area. Those who rebel will be dealt with, FIRMLY and swiftly. No US law protection or any of that crap. We take over their country, eliminate all their military ability, and let them stay there in their desert with US controlling who goes where and who does what, what they eat, what they sell, etc.... Don't kill the innocents, they have done nothing except to be brainwashed into believing the lies that the US is evil itself.

Also, we start 'propoganda' that promotes the US. The government there has used religious propoganda to convince it's public that the US is the devil incarnate. You don't even have to try to change their religion. Some people say Islam is a peaceful religion. We use the same tactics to convince them of this. Will it happen overnight? No, but with time it will. In reality the general population there would be better off if they were 'cared for' by the US military than they are now under terrorist leadership.
