airborne express left my $1K camera...
i came home to find the $1000 DSLR i ordered online sitting on the doorstep. don't these guys require a signature when they deliver packages, especially ones that are worth some decent amount of money?? someone could had just walked by and swiped the package that's probably been sitting there all afternoon. i'm excited for having received my new toy, but i'm pissed at the fact that it was just sitting there for anyone to take!!
Yeah those cowboys just dump and run. I was out of town for 3 days when a package was delivered, figured they would drop it off at the apartment office just like everyone else, but no! Came home, found the box, miraculously still on my doorstep. I try to avoid airborne express now.
Unless the person you ordered from paid for a "signature required" its up to the of the drivers judgement to leave it in what they feel is a "secure" place. Actually non-delivery claims are very low versus the cost of the driver having to go back to your home / apt. for delivery.

This is the sender's fualt. First, they didn't pay for a signature required, as mns2k stated. And, it sounds like they didn't pay to insure the package for $1000, or the driver would have recognized that and probably left you a message.
I have never used Airborne Express, but I would personally be more upset at Dell than AE.
