Do you think you would have been happy had they left a note that they'd been there. Then you call them but it's past the point that they can take it out of the delivery loop and they attempt delivery 3 times missing you every time and leave notes aggravating you more each day for 3 days. Then it automatically comes out of the delivery loop and you can go pick it up. It's happened to me on sig required deliveries before and is not fun.

I've ordered 2 laptops from Dell in the last few weeks and both of them were left on the doorstep by UPS. One $1800 and one $1500. Today my new 60GB ipod video is to be delivered by Fed Ex, think they'll leave it? I hope so!
WOW! I came home and guess what was on the door. A freakin note from the Fed Ex man who tried delivering my new 60GB iPod video at 9:55am. Thankfully he was cool enough to come back by around 5pm on his way back to the depot to check again and I was home!

i understand some of you guy's point about the hassle of having to call the delivery company, have them take the package off the truck, and then having to pick it up yourself, but for me, personally, the idea of having anything even remotely valuable just sitting outside my house for hours unattended makes me feel uneasy. no, i do not live in the ghetto or anywhere that is even remotely sketchy, but unless i am guaranteed that if and when anything bad happens to the package, that i will automatically be refunded or have the product replaced, then i rather go through the hassle of having to pick up the package myself. again, that's just me. obviously a lot of you guys feel otherwise, which is cool. i wish i can be as unparanoid as some of your guys.

I hate signature required. IT's so hard to be home when they deliver. I've never had a delivery not found that was left for me.
I'd rather know my package was secure and go to the carrier's office and pick it up myself the next day.

FEDEX left my 500 bucks camera in front of my door. I was kind of pissed cuz it was there for two days. I paid $35 for shipping so I was expecting to sign a paper when receiving my order. I try to use USPS whenever I can cuz they never leave the package in my door step.
