you serious about the girl or you're just trying to mow the lawn for the summer?

when i was 24 i dated an 18 year old freshman in college - everything was great until i realized how young she really is, and how unprepared she was for real life. a year later i met my wife and got married 4 months after i met her - my wife is the same age i am. now that we're both 31 and 6 years into our marriage, i can't be happier with her and the status of my relationship. the 18-year old girl is now 24, still in school (getting her graduate degree), and i can't imagine marrying a student or starting a family with one.
Amen! I truly agree.

Just go out with her and have fun, forget about relationships for now, if you two seem to hit off and stay good friends then you'll know when the time is right to get serious

Ahhh...grass starts to grow at a very early age. Don't play 'til the grass matures.

But anyway, IMO, she's too young. It depends on the girls, but most young girls are annoying as shit. These days, I prefer a mature adult to converse with, have fun with, and be like adults. 5-year difference is nothing at all, but you're wrong in comparing to the 30/25 couple. When a girl is 17, she's still a little kid; when she gets to be 25, she's a mature adult, probably. It's not correct to compare a 17/22 couple to a 25/30 couple (in that case, a 12/17 couple).
Not always true my boy. Women mature alot faster then men do. By the age of 18, they already hold a boys standard of about 20-22. Then again, in my case I got stuck at 18.

With the subject though, I would back off and let her be a freshman and let you be an adult. You have responsabilities in your life that she cant even fathom right now much less would probably want to. Probably best for the both of you. You never know, she may bud into a woman by the time she's ready.

If you have to ask, you shouldnt even bother.

dude I think that the worst especially if she is hot.. believe my even if she is slightly hot she will be the diamond of the engineering school.... believe me, I went throu 4 years of engineering undergrad...... the hottest chick that we had was probably a 5/10 in the realy word....
I concur with this statement, I remember back in school the scale for the girls in the engineering program was crazy scaled. The absolute scale we all know in public didn't apply here, all the girls got an automatic +3 so basically a girl we would rate as a 6 would appear like a 9 which is a scary thought and actually quite sad now that I think about. Must engineers get screwed everywhere we go? I honestly think they should get a program going which intermingles the social science girls (hotties!) with the engineers by simplying having these classes offered in the same building. The engineering building sucks, the occurrene of an even descent looking girl was such a rare thing. Man, I loved it when I would wander into "South Campus" where the IQ declined but the aesthetics more than made up for it.
