I think the key, correct me if I"m wrong gotrice, is that he didn't expect his friends to pay necessarily, but the fact is that from their actions, he feels used and that's what hurt.
sounds about right, don't try explaining it to trainwreck though. It wouldn't have been such a big deal if it wasn't my wife's b-day.

Only immature jerks think that their worth as a man is measured by flaunting/bragging about their wealth. You can talk all you want about how "bottle service and private tables" was a weekly occurance before you got married, or that you can throw parties that "cost more than you make in a year" Again, you don't know how much anyone on this forum makes annually.

However, if you are so rich, why not stop be a cheap-ass like your bar friends and buy a membership to S2ki?

yea, I guess you are a pretty free spender to get a membership here...that $20 bucks really goes a long way, LOL. Don't come into a thread and say something stupid and I won't belittle you and send you back to your dorm room. Like I said, you could have inherited 5 million dollars when your uncle Remo drove his truck off a cliff, so I dont know your financial situation...but I bet I am close. If you wouldn't had gotten on top of your soapbox about "private tables and bottles" I wouldn't had to be a jerk. You get what you give....unless everyone is on one tab

You were never related to them. THey were colatteral baggage. INLAWS
Collateral Baggage. That is a great term. I hate to take this OFF TOPIC but I bet my FIL is worse than yours. He is a NewYork Life agent and sees me as money bags. EVERY F&*King time I see him he has some new product he pushes at me. He and I have nothing in common so the only thing we talk about is financial stuff which turns into "Hey check out this new product I have"

Actually I am 29 and work for a Wall St. company. You should play our "Beat the Street" game and try to win $100k. Maybe then you could afford the membership.

they are asinine, re-read your posts and you will understand what I mean.

1.) Collecting money is for college kids, people that are on a tight budget, or cheap people. I'm not a church usher, so I refuse to pass around an offering plate to grown men. My only mistake was giving my friends too much credit
2.) a kids POV is quite different from someone who has a level of trust in his friends, another bad point from you.
3.) I already explained that gratitude is not always represented with money. Again, you are not reading the posts/not paying attention etc.
4.) I hosted parties that cost more than you make in a year, another bad point from you.
5.) Being cheap is a representation of character....being cheap because you are poor is understandable, being cheap because you are greedy and selfish is major character flaw.
if he didnt care about the money his post would have went something like this:

am i wrong?
i hosted an expensive party. my friends all came over to drink on my tab, but didnt say thank you. i am butt hurt wah wah wah.

if he didnt care about the money why insert in the meticulous calculations?

1.) collecting money for an organized event (known to be expensive) before hand is considered appropriate. there is nothing wrong with it. ur a fool and a rookie if u arrange to get bottle service put it all on your tab, and expect to be fully compensated.

2.) for such old and trustworthy friends and party vet like u, why did this issue not come to light earlier? perhaps cuz ur trust was misplaced, u dont really know ur friends as well as you thought, and u were naive in assuming the best. ur a kid, and ur friends suck. mix that togehter and u get this post!

3.) your friends showed up for your wifes bday wtf more would u like besides tehre money? oh yea, maybe the shoulda have sang "for hes a jolly good fellow" to you before leaving the club.

4.) i live in the bay area, and own a brand new s2k, with your dismal planning skills as displayed by urself, i highly doubt u make more than me. i dont even want to drop where i live, because it will make the podunk box u call a house look like what my doggy lives in. 40k wedding, is that supposed to be impressive? LOL.

5.) the ability to not be bitter after ur friends slighted you is also a representation of character. i am not defending people that are cheap because of greed. i am saying u are overreacting, and really should not expect party guest to foot ur party bill and then sing praises of gratitude every time u do something nice for them and urself. ur post sounds like person without much party experience because this is not in anyway a rare occurance, u should have learnt this lesson a long long time ago. hence, to answer your question, you are in the wrong along with ur poopy friends.

if i were the one friend taht did pay his fair share, i would feel used by u, because u used ur friends to try and leverage your limited income to make the night more special for ur wife. too bad ur little scheme did not succeed. if anything ur one friend that did pay his fair shair got hte short end of the stick.

I already answered these questions, are you retarded or do you just have problems reading. I understand that you are probably some punk kid, so most of the things I have to repeat aren't registering with you, but I will type it out one more time for the slow people here (trainwreck).

- yes, I hosted an expensive party, was it a slap in the face for the attendees to be unappreciative..YES (do you understand this?)

- I included the whole story to paint a better picture of what happened, (do you understand this?)

1.) Collecting money for a LARGE organized event could be appropriate considering the circumstances. This was a small get-together, collecting money is a little tacky and something I might expect from a punk kid like yourself.

2.) This is the first correct thing you said..partially, at least. I was naive in thinking my friends would behave honorably.

3.) Yes, they showed up, but their attitudes were not appropriate in my opinion.

4.) I'm sure you are a millionaire because every punk kid was a s2000 who is a member on here claims to be a millionaire. So if you are wealthy, you either won the lottery or inherited money from you parents because you clearly are not intelligent enough to make yourself.

5.)Like I said before kid, I can tell alot about people by the way they talk and I have seen a hundred punks like you and they are all talk.

- How would you feel used by me? This is definately the most ridiculous comment you have made so far....how old are you, kid?..be honest.

I am no longer related to those people...
So what're you going to do with all that extra money now?

1. it should be no BIG deal then. but to u it is. apparently.

2. yes u are a kid who is naive.

3. yes ur friends a poopy.

4. i am sure ur millionaire too. because every punk kid was a s2000 who is a member on here claims to be a millionaire. So if you are wealthy, you either won the lottery or inherited money from you parents because you clearly are not intelligent enough to make yourself. news flash ur on the internet.

and yes btw everyone in the bay area is a millionaire, question is, how many.

5. this shit doenst happen to me anymore because i have the ability to learn from mistakes and am not stubborn to sound advice. i guess i am wiser than u.

6. i would feel used by u if u threw a 1000 dollar party for ur wife. and expected each person to ship in 200 dollars. hence, u leverage ur 200 u throw in, to host 1000 party. get it?

fuk that, I am done with generosity towards people that do not reciprocate.
u said it not me. i re read it over and over, per ur request. still reads and conveys the same to me.
