Wow, so many responses! This is my first time looking at this thread since I started it. I read everything and now I'm confused on what to do. Fist of all let me just say that i'm a pretty small guy(130lbs). I eat like a champ but do not gain any weight. I have an office job, so I'm basically sitting on my a$$ all day. I just want to fill out a little, so , what would be my best choice? Protein shakes or Creatine? I will be working out regardless. Some recommended brand names would be awesome too! Sorry to sound uneducated about this, but, this is something I just dont know that much about, and some of you sound like you know lots about it. Someone set me straight!

. I would recommend whey protein or protein shakes. If you have to, you can start with creatine. I've done creatine on numerous occasions throughout my years of working out. Just remember, it takes time to gain alot of muscle. Just stick to working out. For instance, some people workout for a few months for 4-5 days a week, then quit for a few months, then get back into it. If your consistent with your routine then you should see improvements later down the road. I recommend reading "Arnold's encyclopedia for modern bodybuilders".
As far as brands, I tend to stick with EAS products.
What I have found to work best for me with working out in general is to have a routine that is based on a two cycle system. One cycle being maintenance/toning/cutting and the other going for straight mass gains and/or shocking your muscles into growing. It is during this shocking cycle that I use creatine. This is only for about 6 weeks at a time. It is a good routing because it breaks the monotony which can find it's way into going to the gym. Also I have three routines within each of the two cycles again always keep your body guessing as to what comes next in order to avoid plateaus in your training. The best creatine I have found to date is Di Maxx. It's made by a German company....I think. It is liquid based so more is actually absorbed rather than just passing straight through. No loading phase, just point and shoot. Take only 10ml on training days and that's it. No powders to mix and the taste is manageble. I ONLY use it during the shock phase as it's main purpose is help stuff your muscles with glucose/energy/ATP for the purposes of extending the point to which you can push yourself thus enabling you to make progress more quickly. It does not aid in rebuilding them, only plenty of rest and the right nutrition can help that. It can be found on Netrition.com and many other sites. I avoid GNC as they tend to push their own supplements and some times they are just plain $hitty. Proper Hyrdation is VERY important while using creatine. Water retention is also a fact of life while using creatine. As with many things it is only harmful if abused or used for too long(for months at a time at large doses).
Unless you work out, you will only damage what you have. Excess protein turns to glucose, and creatine must be used....meaning, you need to lift.
Creatine is Garbage??? and Met-rx is good? If you dont know anything, keep it to yourself. METRX is trash. Anything with the word TECH in it is total crap. KNow what advice you are giving.
DO NOT take ANY supplements, if you are NOT going to go to the gym regularly, dont even think about taking creatine.

oh and you do know that met-rx has amounts of "proper creatine" right!(not loads of it like 15+grams im talking 5 grams!)
so again know what ur talking about cause cell-tech does too...
so the moral of the post is... if met-rx is trash and cell-tech, then stright/pure creatine supplements are too....
also i do not disagree w/ anything you are saying, like protein turns to glucose etc...
