Let's get one thing straight.

Protein is made up of nothing but amino acids...that's what protein is....it builds muscle.

Creatine is a combination of three amino acids that form a volumizing agent. It DOES NOT build muscle tissue but does allow you to hold more water in your muscle resulting in the pump that lets you lift more. Creatine is a Arginine, Glycine, and Methionine combined. The liver uses these three together and converts them in to creatine.

That's Creatine 101....plain and simple. It benefits you in high intensity excercises by allowing you to do more reps and therefore tear more muscle tissue in order to allow your protein and glutamine consumption to do their job....which is rebuilding tissue....specifically muscle tissue.

Meal supplements are a joke if you ask me. They almost all have Aspartame in them which is a big negative on your body. All you need is straight up pure whey protein and glutamine to rebuild muscle tissue.

Creatine is something you take before going to the gym for a pump in order to workout. After the workout you want to consume complex carbohydrates to replenish your glucose stores and then consume protein about two hours after the workout for the rebuilding process. YOU DO NOT want to consume protein right after a workout because it gets wasted replenishing your glucose stores so your body has energy and does NOT rebuild muscle. You want the complex carbs in your system prior to protein consumption so you can spare the protein calories from being used as an energy source so they can be used for the sole purpose which is rebuilding muscle and connective tissue.

Honda606....I agree with you....

CynC.....you are just plain wrong. There are NO OPINIONS on this subject. Just scientific facts. Opinions on supplements just hurts people, its either wrong, or right.

If someone wants to take creatine, no trainer in their right mind would tell someone to take a MIX of supplements that contains creatine (like your Beloved MET-RX) Supplements should be taken alone. That way, you can control the doses. If you are taking MET-RX with creatine, to get your 10 grams, you are also taking 50 grams of sugar.

Anyone who knows ANYTHING about this subject will tell you that the well marketed products (METRX, Cell-TECH, Nitro-TECH) are pure trash. Why, because they contain an ungodly amount of dextrose. They are expensive and are "recommended" 3 servings a day, of 3 scoops each. This does nothing than give you a massive sugar rush (70 grams of dextrose is about 20 cups of coffe.....energy wise) and drain your wallet.

By taking PURE creatine, you can control your intake, whether it is 5 grams, or 20 grams. If I need 5 grams of creatine, I dont want 30 grams of protein, 2 grams of Taurine, 7 grams of Glutamine.....etc. Also, by taking crap like MET-RX, you dont know what is working and what isnt. You might see an imporvement in your bench lifts, but how can you know from what if the crap contains 67 different supplements. You can save yourself a LOT of money from sh!t like METRX and CELLTECH, and just eat a big steak washed down by white grape juice.

MET-RX also has a large soy base....which has BEEN SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN TO BE HAZARDOUS TO MALES IN LARGE QUANTITIES. (which these drinks amount to)

Anyway, back on topic, those who recommend N0S (large bases of glutamine), creatine and glutamine work hand in had.....creatine "opens your muscles" for delivery, and glutamine repairs them.

*edited* I didnt mean n20...I meant N0S....which is a glutamine product. Ive never used n20, so I dont know about it. Honda606, claims it crap, and so do some websites that I trust....so.....

Anyway, if I have to buy brand products..(I usually buy loose powder)

I use ONLY products from...
Nature's Best (http://www.naturesbest.com/)
Scitec Nutrition (http://www.scitecnutrition.com/)

Thats it. There are some other good brands out there, but these are the best IMHO....and Ive tried many.

THE BEST place to purchase supplements...

Just to show you your "quality product"
This is the label from a CELL-TECH bottle.....

Ok.....so, say I need 15 grams of creatine a day......

I would take the recommended serving or this garbage, and here is what we get.....

450 worthless calories. So I just lost a 1/4 of my daily meal allowance.

90 grams of sodium, so that my kidneys get a good work out.

112.5 grams of PURE sugar This sugar is dextrose, and does not need to be broken down....meaning, it does straight to the blood. ALL OF IT.

375mg of vitamin C!!!! Thats over 650% of your daily intake....Vitamin C is very hazardous to the human body if taken in these kinds of quantities repeatedly.

I take it that the people who want to listen, instead of mouthing off, get my point. Stay safe, and stay informed.

There are opinions on different brands of supplements, but not ways to take them. And I provide very good reasons for not taking certain ones. You know what I meant, and stop acting like a kid. And I did read all your posts carefully.
