Any useful websites for driving tips?

Something I do when I buy a new/different car is sign myself up for an advanced driving course in the car. My previous car was a Mitsubishi Lance Gli (FWD, little power). Going from that to my S2k is a totally new experience. Getting on a skidpan to learn new braking techniques, some track time and autocross and you learn the limits of the car pretty quickly.

I wouldnt suggest going to a track this soon. Just drive the car daily and you will learn alot. Track and street are two different things. Ive raced SCCA for 6 years, you dont wanna take a car that your unframiliar with and track it. You gotta crawl before you walk. Have fun and be safe.

auto-x auto-x auto-x.....did I mention to go auto-x ?

Honestly though, I came from a 99 Civic SI, this was/is my first RWD, and by far the most powerful I have owned. The 3 years auto-x in my civic and now 4 years in my s2k have been an absolutely priceless experience. Hands down, no questions asked has improved my driving ten fold, and IMO I was not all to bad to begin with.

As far as books go, there is one that is universally recommended I think put out by the skip barber school. But learning to 'drive' from a book is like reading to learn how to do martial arts or anything else really, nothing like seat time/experience.

Auto x is good, but to increase your diving time and lower the cost, just find an empty parking lot you can spin out in - something safe and unpopulated - practice driving the car and doing loopy things like accelerating while turning in a circle until the car begins to let out, turning and braking suddenly, same with accel, etc.

This will give you a general idea of the handling limits of the car on those road conditions, which is better than nothing.
