Default Anyone Cathoic?

Anyone, I am Catholic and need to get Confirmed. The people at my church say that it takes 1 year of classes while attending church every sunday. No prob... however the classes dont startt untill Aug 06!
They also said that most every catholic church follows this calander. Is there a quicker way to get confirmed? Or am I SOL?

Your SOL. I don't believe there is a way to speed it up....

The church does make someone wanting to be confirmed go through a long process, though my wife did not have to go for a year. She started in September and finished in April. Typically the church likes to confirm at the Easter mass because it is symbolic of a new beginning.

You will need to go through the RCIA (Rites of Catholic Initiation, I believe) program with the church. Best of luck.

1 year and at least a grand of cash before you are saved. Just remember, jesus hates cheap-skates.

On the upside, after this outlay of cash you can do anything you want and just confess as much and instantly it is absolved.

Religion is the best organized crime racket in the world and probably still the best way to control stupid people.

when i was getting confirmed, my parish wanted me to take classes every Saturday for 2 years, plus show up for mass every sunday (they took roll). my mom said eff that.

we eventually found another church that had 9 months of classes plus it was more youth oriented and run by young people.

now what was my parish teaching in 2 years that the other church covered in 9 months? who knows??? i think it was just a way for the old people in my church to exert power over the youth and make themselves feel better.

i don't know how things operate here in the states, but try to shop around if you can.

I don't think I had to take more than 6 months of classes once a week during evenings. Of course, that was a long time ago. As far as I know, there are no quickie confirmations. Are you trying to get married or something and need to be converted in a hurry?
