I'm not sure how to break this to you, Jerry, but you have to give up drinking.

I was a 3 times a year Catholic (Christmas, Easter, Someone Died) and I was confirmed.

I went to Catholic school so that may have made it shorter for me (confirmation period). I remember going to classes once or twice a week at night for maybe 2 hours for no more than 3 months (if that).

I don't know what Catholic church you go to but I am pretty sure the Catholic church has the most loopholes of any organized religion. I am sure you could do it all in 3 months if not shorter.

WTF?? In South America you only have to attend Catholic School and take a week worth of classes...or you can get a priest to sign off a document that says that you did attend the classes (so...there are plenty of priests that will sign that document for a few bucks)....amazing huh?

I was born and raised catholic and that is one of the many reasons why I can never understand why it is such a political religion. Confirmation??? Where in the bible does it say you have to be confirmed? Original sin? Where? Ayyayayay...don't get me started otherwise this will get closed....

Anyone Cathoic?, Need a question answered!

I don't know what a "CATHOIC" is. I was catholic at one time but found the religion not to be able to answer all my questions. I don't know how they got away with calling themselves "universal" since they aren't the one and only religion in the world. I have found it to be more defined by its antonyms than by its synonyms.

Main Entry: Catholic
Part of Speech: adjective
Definition: general
Synonyms: all-embracing, broad-minded, charitable, comprehensive, cosmic, cosmopolitan, diffuse, eclectic, ecumenical, extensive, generic, global, inclusive, indeterminate, large-scale, liberal, open-minded, planetary, receptive, tolerant, unbigoted, universal, unprejudiced, unsectarian, whole, wide, world-wide, worldly

Antonyms: limited, narrow, parochial, provincial, sectarian

1 year and at least a grand of cash before you are saved. Just remember, jesus hates cheap-skates.

On the upside, after this outlay of cash you can do anything you want and just confess as much and instantly it is absolved.

Religion is the best organized crime racket in the world and probably still the best way to control stupid people.
Yea charity is an awful thing. Considering all priest are driving 100 thousand dollar cars.

Anyone, I am Catholic and need to get Confirmed. The people at my church say that it takes 1 year of classes while attending church every sunday. No prob... however the classes dont startt untill Aug 06!
They also said that most every catholic church follows this calander. Is there a quicker way to get confirmed? Or am I SOL?
I assume you are baptized in one church or another. If you have a compelling reason, you may find a parish that will allow you to do some extra study to catch up to the existing class that will be confirmed this coming Easter.

Find out who is in charge of the RICA programs in various parishes and visit with them personally to explain your situation. Some parishes are a lot more liberal than others.

BTW, it won't cost you $1000. Nominal fee for materials if any.

Good Luck
