Unhappy Anyone else have this problem?

Usually when I'm in a boring meeting I will sit there and daydream. The problem is I always decide to daydream about the stupidest crap that manages to make me almost burst out laughing in the meeting. It happens numerous times, and I even burst out laughing once and everyone was like "wtf?".

I'll be sitting there and start to think of stuff that'll make me laugh (I crack myself up, what can I say).

For instance: I was in a video teleconference (vtc) and started thinking of this hilarious prank to pull. I thought about muting the microphone, then pretending to yell at the top of my lungs at the people in the meeting. So the people on the other end would be like "holy crap, that guy is going off!! too bad he muted it!". I could imagine just flailing my arms around and pointing at people, maybe even slamming my arms on the table and throwing a notebook. LOL, could you imagine what that would look like to the people on the other end? But really I'm just mouthing words and making it look like I'm screaming. Kinda like what ace ventura did in the first movie with the balcony.

Does this happen to anyone else?

I worked at a small company a few years ago (less than 20 people) and there was always one person who tried to be TOO serious at a meeting. Someone (usually me) would make a crack at them that would lighten the mood. And yes, this company was and is still successful. And no, I did not get fired.

If you're known for bad meetings around my job, everybody shows up with their laptops. . . and does something else.

I usually watch for people falling asleep. We tend to have 25+ people in a meeting so they're spread out quite a bit. It's hilarious to see heads nodding and dropping after the first ten or twenty minutes.

I hate meetings where all I do is listen so I usually try and crack a joke or something to wake people up. Meetings would be a lot more effective if they kept people interested (or, at the least, alert).

i always find it hard to seem like im really saying words if im just mouthing them. so i would probably have to actually yell in order to pull that off.

also, im glad i hardly ever have to go to meetings b/c im the first one asleep. having someone stand in front of me while i sit and listen to him/her talk is like my sleep kryptonite!

I hate meetings, I don't like them at all, it is such a waste of time!
They should just start a forum, and post a new thread for every issue and there would be no need for meetings!

Doodling keeps you alert in meetings. You won't daydream as much. True story.
