I was also told that as we get older we become less "tolerant" of small changes to our vision. I thought I had a real problem yet my vision is 20/40!

People who have had the worst eye sight are the most happy with the procedure.

The week after my surgery the whole group of us who went thru the procedure were in the office for a check up, we compared notes. The ONLY person who was completely happy was a little old lady who had coke bottle lenses. Her eyes corrected to about what mine were before correction. It was a phenomenal improvement to her.

The rest of us still needed glasses to get the clarity and power we needed.

I used to be able to wear my glasses 80% of the time, now I have to wear them 100% of the time.

As to the correction being temporary that isn't exactly true. What they corrected stays corrected, it is just as your eyes age you end up with presbyopia and need reading glasses or more. That's a natural consequence of aging and has nothing to do with the process.

If you expect miracles you will be very disappointed. If you hope for some improvement then you will be happy. I wanted to be able to read the clock in the middle of the night when I got up to pee. That didn't happen.

I can't speak personally, but my boss had it about 6 months ago and said it was the best decision he has ever made. He went with a well known docto in the Dallas area and said other than dry eyes every now and then it was a great experience.

I agree...as I stated, because of the condition of MY eyes, I would still need glasses down the road, which is why I decided against the procedure. I don't believe I said the temporary correction was related to the surgery itself.

I had "Custom Lasik" performed about 2 years ago.

Wavefront technology and Custom Lasik take BOTH readings of not only your perscription but the topographical map of your eye surface. They combine the two readings like a formula to create a more accurate perscription for the laser beam.

I was legally blind without my glasses and could not see past 2-3 feet.

After one month my vision was 20/20, after 2 months it was 20/16 and at the 3 month mark it was 20/12.

Since the operation it has deteriorated because of the natural aging process. As you age your eyes change and so does the shape of your eyeball and more importantly your eyelids. Just the slightest pressure on your eye from the weight of your eyelids can change your vision.

The one thing I can say is that your eyes will be sensitive to sunlight and you will have to wear sunglasses.

Night vision has deteriorated a little also.

I don't regret it one bit.

Warren my uncle got it done like 6 years ago and hasn't had any problems since. A year after he got it done, he has his eyes re-checked and the doc told him that he has better vision than 20/20

Does Lasik help at all with glare at night? I wear contacts, and I have a problem at night with glare. I have learned to focus on the right side of the road, but it's still pretty bad. Would Lasik help at all with the glare problem?

I am scheduled to have my wavefront Lasik at Laser IQ in City of Industry this Saturday morning, early Christmas present.

I am looking forward to it. Not looking forward to the 24 hour recovery session where I am not suppose to do anything, visually or actively.
