Default Anyone involved in corporate automotive?

Hey guys, I'm an aggressive guy with 2 years left in school and am trying to get my path set for the years to come...I'm currently employed with a MB/Audi/Porsche Dealership and am looking to push further into the industry. I've done well here and am looking towards the corporate level for this coming summer.

Has anyone got any experience with this, and could possibly give me some pointers/trees to bark up? FWIW I'm a Finance major, Global Business minor and have a strong resume to back myself up with...

so do you mean you're working at a dealership as...financial intern? a sales guy? i don't see how working at a dealership can get you to automakers' corporate offices since dealerships are privately owned...

Best way is through internships. Well, atleast in the automotive design world. I don't know how it works with marketing, engineering and etc...

Well coming out of a major university, people are getting jobs in the Corporate Automotive industry every single day....so I certainly can see a way that I'll end up there. Of course MBUSA training and dealership experience shouldn't hurt

Thats neither here nor there, I'll be there in one way or another...I'm just wondering if anyone with some experience/a "can do" attitude that can point me in a good direction.

I appreciate it.

Just like anything. Start making connections.

If you dont know where to go, do some research. Find the HR departments for places you are interested in and ask them who you would contact regarding internship possibilities. It's all a game you just need to keep chasing the rabbit.

It's not much help, but a good friend from college worked as a design engineer for Honda

He claimed it sucked his life force from him and he left after 6 years

He did an internship with GM and Honda before being hired
