Anyone like racing RC monster trucks or the like???
Wow a lady that is interested... now that is truely out of the ordinary. On road cars are cool and i would get one but I don't know of any local onroad tracks?
As far as the T-max goes why not the savage... it has been out just as long but is a bit more durable, larger, more powerful, 1/8 scale (much better for bashing), and has more suspension travel.

A big nitro R/C monster truck is next on the list. I've got a Kyosho Mini-Z Corvette C5-R with tons of mods, for my desk "model" at work (makes for some fun after hours).
Also in my stable is an HPI Rally RS-4 Subaru WRX WRC (Richard Burns 2001 edition). Its mostly stock. Finally, I rescued a Team Associated RC10 buggy from the garbage 2 years ago (which got me re-bitten by the R/C bug big time). It was the original 1985 version, updated to the Team Car minus the gearbox. A new ESC and $10 in parts later and she's hummin' around good as new.
In my past I used to race Losi XX and JRX-Pro SE buggies. Did pretty good too.

My girlfriend just bought me a Traxxas Nitro Rustler, what a difference from electric. I have a Tamiya Honda S2000 all modded up that runs pretty fast, but nothing like the gas ones.
Can't wait to hit the dirt with it, on the 4th tank of the break in phase...1 more to go, feels like breaking in the S all over again.

boyfriend:
I've got a fairly modded savage and a mgt. Both have wasp.26 in them. Parts are becoming available for the mgt in short order so it will get its' fair share. Stay away from the CEN because I'll put my money on it not having the extensive dealer network and hop-ups for it like the T-maxx, savage and soon the mgt. You'll be hard pressed for parts when you break/wear out pieces. A good example is the current CEN out now. "Toycar" on the savage forums and monstergt.com

Since I got the savage 21 in july it's reguired craps loads of hop-ups and $. It just wasn't what i wanted it to be in stock form. The s-25 is better you get the electric roto-start, 3 shoe clutch, stiffer springs (6lbs from 2lbs is a bit much, I run 4lbs), redesigned rear pick-up tank to reduce 1/2 tank lean out, S-25 engine I hear is much better than the 21bb. What you need is length adjustable upper control arms to adjust camber and a Ofna ($12usd iclud. bearings) or kyosho bellcrank servosaver for steering and a high torque servo. The s-25 is a good package
The mgt also needs the bellcrank servo saver but only the teamassociated one fiits and it's not available yet but will cost $75usd! Especialy, requires high torque servo because of 6 5/8" tires. Comes with T-maxx size shocks. Has 6 cvd's alround, easy to work on, comes with all metric NF screws/bolts (not the savage), and 4 spider gears in the diff. So it has a strong driveline although the housing around the cvd setpin is paper thin and will tear in half with a snall amount of torque. It's all set-up for an engine upgrade unlike the savage which requires lots of work and $. The mgt handles way better than the savage. Two friends at Golden Horizon hobbies took out for comparison a ofna picco'd slighly modded savage 21 and a picco'd mgt with almost no mods except 2 red stiff springs n the front and different shock and diff. oil. The mgt ran proline maxx mulchers (5.5" tires >1" smaller than stock). wheel base is identical but the mgt is one inch wider and the savage weighs 1 lb more on the scale (he has GH 7075 chassis plates and a reverse module + servo). The mgt ran 18/46 gears (15/52 is stock). The savage ran 17/49 gears (14/52 is stock). Finally! Acceleration and top speed were reported to pretty much the same. Both trucks, the savage 21 and mgt have the same top speed as per the magazines, 32mph.
I think for style the mgt is better hence the 'B' in the bft and looks and is easier to work on and doesn't collect dirt like the savage. It stays suprisingly clean or the savage gets dirty fast and man is the savage hard to clean. Lots of tight corners ans tucked away spaces. The mgt is more a track truck
The savage is a basher.
There is no clear winner or loser. Preference. I like the mgt. It's new and I only go o the track. I and most avid r/cers work alot on the truck. The same operation on the mgt takes half the time it does on the savage.
