Even if you don't game, I would recommend just picking up a Logitech G5 Laser Gaming Mouse. You get to skip the LED mouse generation and go straight to the laser. It has huge teflon feet for easy gliding, a high quality cable, is comfy, adjustable weight/ballast for a good feel, and it's not expensive. Best Buy had them on sale for arond 30 bucks last time I checked.

It is nice not to have to drag my arm about my desk and I do not have to worry about annoying wires as well.
