I used to follow it quite ardently a year or two ago...as someone mentioned, when rock and stone cold were frequently featured, and Tajiri used to have a much larger role.

Nowadays I still watch it whenever I can, but I dont make it a point to set aside time to watch it. There are shitloads of new wrestlers, personalities etc...so its pretty hard to keep up with who is who, what they do...who they're aligned with. I still enjoy the athletic spectacle for the most part, and Torrie Wilson is still gonna have my babies in the future lol

man this is so true. I watched smackdown and the blockbuster characters are not their. I mean lots of equal people but they need more teams more storyline. Maybe NWO and a couple more factiosn can come back I dunno. Its like Chavo guerro is comign back next week? who cares!! he is a cruiser weight.
Bring back sting or something......So many people but they are undevleoped and don't stand out. Bring more wrestlers or something. I m sick of HBK hes what like almost 60??? Benoi, edge I mean they are not the caliber of the rock, stone cold, Goldberg....Find some big guys or something...
Whilst nobody can deny how entertaining it is to see man mountains duel against each other, I can't believe you dismiss the cruiserweights like that.
I know for the most part, the general masses appreciate extreme size and strength, but the cruiserweights are infinitely entertaining in their own right. Guys like Tajiri, and to a larger extent Rey Mysterio are incredibly athletic and can get up to acrobatics the heavyweights can only dream of! The technicality of most of their moves/routines, far exceed those of the bigger boys...not saying that they are better, but it certainly brings something different to the table. Ah well, we all have our opinions and tastes I guess.

That's exactly why I don't really even bother to watch the WWE anymore. HHH needs to step down and let some of the newer guys shine. Guys like Bautista, Randy Orton, etc. are being held back by the likes of HHH. I mean, for example, by having Orton and Bautista in HHH's "faction", they're pretty much in his shadow. Even when Orton left Evolution, he's still screwed out of ever getting the title, since we all know HHH and the storyline writers would never let up. Also, I doubt Bautista is ever going to get anywhere, other than being HHH or somebody's stooge. (I guess it helps that HHH is married to Stephanie in real life.)

Also, when Goldberg came in, they totally misrepresented his character and made him look relatively weak. I mean, how many times did HHH and the rest of them screw Goldberg over...and get away with it! The REAL Goldberg (from before) would just come in, kick ass, Spear, Jackhammer, then leave. Simple and effective. He was the "anti-hero" type that even the good guys were afraid of...which was what made it so cool. Instead WWE tried to make him "more human", and failed horribly.
I still remember Goldberg's first appearance on WCW. I remember thinking "damn this guy is a beast". Anyone know what he's up to these days?

The thing with Chavo is he's not even a big name as far as cruiser weights go. It was fitting when they were hyping mysterio coming in. In my opinion chavo is technically a cruiser weight mainly because of his weight, but he wrestles like any of the other heavy weights. Mysterio is also not as good as he used to be. He used to do that crazy snap hurancanrana, but his shit just looks sloppy now.

Yeh goldberg turned into a movie star. He left because he had no control of his character.

Plain and simple Wrestling is now about tits and ass. There are no good story lines. No build up of matches. It's horrible. They should of never done that whole WCW/WWF crap. I guess from now on when I want to get my wrestling kicks I'll watch an old school event on dvd.

My mistake, I thought you were dismissing cruiserweights as a whole. Chavo indeed isnt very exciting either way, so in no way was I actually defending him.
