Edit: Per request by the author, the offending post has been deleted and the thread re-opened. Let's keep it civil, folks.
Y'see? This is the kind of crap that gets good threads locked. You're welcome to your opinion on the merits of the democratic process in California (and of the Bush administration...why the hell did you feel compelled to add that little gem?), but it's not an appropriate topic of conversation here. Please think about things a little more before waxing political in an up-to-now civil and interesting thread. Thank you.

Would it be too inflammatory if I said that Gov. Davis might not have been reelected if he had released the true numbers on the economy prior to the 2002 election instead of holding them until just after the election?

Personally - I thought the deleted post was remarkably perceptive for one so young.

So many of the younger generation are so apathetic when it comes to politics and world events - we should encourage them - not censor them.

The issue isn't censoring them, liggy, but rather encouraging such perception be shared in an appropriate manner and in an appropriate place.

To be honest, I think the dialogue would have been better served by leaving the thread locked with the full original text, because there was definitely merit to what was said.

Actually I think you mean totalitarian not communist. Communism is something entirely different.
