attacking bicyclists in santa cruz
I give bicycles every convenience that I can when I encounter them on the road, as I used to ride one myself when I was 10. There is, however, a growing number of them whom are not interested in being given equal consideration. They want special consideration.
Bicycle nazis are so full of self-righteous indignation toward automobiles that they think that we should genuflect upon seeing thier sweaty visage impeding the safe flow of traffic. These people demand that highway money be spent on bicycle lanes and trails when they contibute $0.00 of the money that goes to build such facilities. Until they have to pay huge registration fees and are taxed for every mile they ride, as autos are, I am content to see them suck exhaust and dodge beer cans.
A golf club with the head broken off should fit behind the seat and afford a longer reach than a tire iron should you encounter this "comrade" again.

I used to ride my bike regularly and I loved doing it. I didn't ride it in the lane with the cars, I value my life too much for that. I would load it up and take it to a near-by town with miles of bike lanes several feet off of the highway. I was almost run over several times by jackasses in cars driving on the bike path or using it for a turn lane. It was clearly marked every 100 or so feet and the cars still wouldn't stay off of it. I had horns blown at me and people yell at me for being in their way. The point is, when you're on a bike you can see idiots in cars as well as on bikes.
Sounds like this guy Josh ran into was a real nutcase. Sounds like he could be found teaching at the local University.
No offence to any profs here.
