The Beatles are overrated.

Today's music sucks man especially rap music. For example I will say a phrase with just two words and I bet it will be a hit in a year or two.

Now watch someone make a hook out of that! It is sad really, I should be a writer.

Overrated or not, I'm sick of hearing about them. It's been 40 years. Move on.

I am a fairly big Beatles nerd. However, yes, it's entirely contextual. Go listen to Revolver, The White Album, and Abbey Road and compare it to anything else of the time. Brian Wilson got close, then went crazy. . .
For being mostly crappy guitar players (McCartney was probably the best of the bunch, and he mostly played bass. . . ), to have found "Meet The Beatles" to be listed in the Top 100 Guitar Albums of All Time (Guitar Magazine a few years back) is a serious statement to the impact of their sound. The shit was LOUD. . . for 1964.
All the hoopla aside, The Beatles success and lasting impact would not have happened except for George Martin and Neil Aspinall, who, frankly, have way bigger reach into what you're listening to now than The Fab Four.
Oh yeah, and Led Zep are the most flagrant music thieves of all time. . .
There, I said it.

there are people out there who still enjoy the Beatles. They still made $60millions last year. I would peddle the same music if it got me a 100th of what they earn.

who is to say that your musical taste is better than someone else? it's a free country. Their music had stood the test of time. Had 50 cents or Britney Spears?
or......
I can say
I'm sick and tired of Mozart and Beethoven. It's been 400 years, Move on!
