Wherever you decide to go, don't go to Ruby Ridge. FBI may come in and kill your dog, kids, and shoot your wife in the face for failure to pay taxes, after you've been setup on a weapons charge of course.

Reminds me of an extremely corny joke:

My sister lives in Sandpoint, ID, which is where Ruby Ridge is located.It's a VERY WEIRD place -- the survivalist, Nazi, Aryan supremacy, KKK capital of the US.

I just bought in Missouri. 100 acres no damn neighbors, 2 one acre ponds , 2 houses, one huge barn / storage building. A hunting reserve across the road with plenty of game on my own property ( deer, turkey,hogs, quail,doves). All for less than 6 figures.
Primary reason is to get away from people, try living at the beach in So Cal with every idiot invading your neighborhood during the summer months with their fat girlfriend in tow wedged into her 2 piece.
The better reason is the idiot liberals Dumbocraps who have run the Republik of Kalifornia into the ground for the past 40 years and every week they pass another law that limits the type of weapon / firearm I can buy for myself and my 2 little boys. I have been a buying fool in Mo.
Still live in Southern California since my sons are in a very good private school here. But we hit the other house many times during the year. You can blast your hard rock / heavy metal as loud as I want without having some douche neighbor who has to call the cops like a Frenchman on you because they pee sitting down and they are afraid of the gun guy with the scary looking friends.
