Best Debut Album of All Time
Nelly Furtado - Whoa Nelly. A good debut album, refreshing sound good songs (except for "I'm like a bird"),
Esthero - Breath from Another. Their debut and only album so far. I highly reccommend this album.

Another vote for Perfect Circle.
I don't know if Undertow was their first but I'm voting for TOOL as well.

And I consider Perfect Circle, while awesome, to be Maynard's side project, which keeps it from being a true "debut" in my mind.
Aside from what others said, how bout Vanilla Ice - To the Extreme
Many will laugh, but that album was great!
More currently, I would say The Killers or the Darkness. Both are on heavy play in my ipod.

I was going to point out that Janes addiction.....I think it was Steve Perkins was so young that he had to play the set and leave after because he was underage.
my votes

Rage Against the Machine-
Dr. Dre- the Chronic
Counting Crows- August and Everything After

opiate was their first... a good album!
Who else, but TOOL, would write a song with lyrics like these?!!?

Choices always were a problem for you.
What you need is someone strong to guide you.
Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow,
what you need is someone strong to use you...
If you want to get your soul to heaven,
trust in me.
Don't judge or question.
You are broken now,
but faith can heal you.
Just do everything I tell you to do.
Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow.
Let me lay my holy hand upon you.
Jesus Christ, why don't you come save my life.
Open my eyes and blind me with your light
and your lies.
