I dont need advice, i was jsut wondering about people feelings on the topic. I sure the court case would come down to who had more money.

Deer also dont have metal post. Should people be allowed to drive quads on the road? Also should i be allowed to pass a bicyclist in a no passing zone(by law)?
If so this gets into a whole gray area of whats safe and whos fault.

The law in most communities gives bicyclists the right to one lane of road, same as cars and motorcycles. No driver of a car is going to give a bicyclist a whole lane without a lot of bitching. Passing a bicycle in a no passing zone would likely not get you a ticket. The roads were built for the people of the community to use for transportation purposes. If you don't like it, build your own roads and make your own rules. Otherwise, grow up and realize that driving a car means you have more responsibility to respect other users than a right to drive on whatever piece of tar is laid down. WTF? Do you get pissed when you see a perfectly good sidewallk being used by pansy walkers?

I have a car and a bike. I can ride my bike wherever, however, and not risk killing anyone or damaging property. With my car, it is slightly different. The rules governing its use are a bit more constrained due to the fact that the damage it can do is much greater. Where the hell did this idea that bikers need insurance come from? Name one occurrence of a bike pedaled hard enough into a car to total the car and kill the occupants. I was hit by a truck while riding my bike, and the cock-sucking officers who arrived on the scene refused to give the driver a ticket, suggesting that it was at least partly my fault I could not get out of the way of the blind shithead Oh well, after flying ten feet though the air, I got up and proceeded to beat the shit out of the driver's door - I think I would have killed the driver if I could have fought my way through the steel and glass

BTW, deer typically weigh less than people, and when they do damage, it is when cars hit deer at high speeds. Deer don't often run into parked cars :/ If a deer runs out into a road, and you get into an accident trying to avoid it, you were going to fast. It is your car, and you are responsible for what it hits.

I was just curious about the insurance, mainly if anyone had personal stories.
i swear there are drunk deer around new hope.

I know you would not get a ticket while passing a person but does any one know what the law is?

I don't mind sharing but I hate it when we come to a stop light and I have to wait and they can just zoom on ahead. WTF? I think if they are going to be on the same road as I am then they must obey the same traffic law. That's cheating if they expect us to treat them as one of us then why can't they obey the same law?

i agree. Another is when you are at a intersection and they pull next to you. I find that extremely dangerous.

Why is a cyclist pulling next to a stopped car at an intersection dangerous?

From an experience i had, a cyclist pulled next to me without me knowing. I preceeded to make my turn while the cyclist tried to go straight. Its almost like having a two lane road when one is not acceptable.

i think bicyclists should obey traffic laws. there are so many times in NYC that the bicyclists run red lights and almost run over people crossing the street. maybe it's just NYC, but those messengers on the bikes are the worst. i was crossing the street once and it was clearly a WALK for me and this messenger rode his bike within 5 inches of me...he cut right in front of me. another time, i was crossing the street when it was WALK and i saw a bike coming right at me and it looked like it was going to go behind me so i walked forward to get out of the way only to find out the guy changed his mind the last minute and chose to cut in front of me. again, it was a close call. who the hell do they think they are? (note: i'm only complaining about the bicyclists in nyc but this may also happen elsewhere)

cars on the road should also be careful of bicyclists just as if it were another car.

i think cars, bicyclists and pedestrians should be courteous to one another.
