They actually have auditions every year. They have very stringent requirements to even be able to audition. You have to be between 5'10 and 6'3 (I think) and in a certain weight range. You have to have some percussion skills. Other than that, you have to be able to hold your own at the group audition. Its a pretty highly acclaimed position and they get a ton of people auditioning every year.

...I'm an acting major and I get info on stuff like this, thats why I know.

I've seen this show many, many times at all the venues.

Chicago performance: 3 times,
NY Performance: 2 times,
Boston Performance: 2 times,
LV Performance: 1 time.

It is slightly different at each individual venue, however, the Las Vegas show was much more different and updated. They also had a few more tricks than the other shows did (ie. the dancing, revolving men on the sides).

Also, I noticed that each time I watched the show at the same venue, there were very slight differences in the show itself. I talk to these guys all the time here in Chicago and in NY; to my knowledge there is one original blue man at each one of the venues, either in a tutor role or as a blue man participant.

Each Blue Man show actually uses 5 or 6 Blue Men, they rotate themselves in and out, much to the ignorance of the audience.

I've loved the Blue Man group since day one when their Chicago (Briar Street Theater) venue opened. I've donated and have helped raise much money for their charities through group bookings and in-theater fundraising....also, I think that the Luxor Venue is the only theater that doesn't do the show as an effort to raise money for their charities.

I saw the LV show last year when I was there for NAB. We sat in the Poncho section and had a great view of everything. Fortunately for us, we didn't need to use the poncho too much.
