Really? Didn't know that about distilled water. It tastes better to me than the city water we have here but I've never done research on the benefits (or lack thereof) of drinking it.

Whether or not bottled water is a waste depends on how your tap water tastes, IMO.

Distilled water effect on human health seems to still be debated. The lack of minerals makes it a more effective solvent, leaching metals from pipes and such. Regular bottled water in place of municipal water also lacks fluoride (for dental health).

I noticed that some of the WalMart distilled water is labeled for use in baby formula. Is that treated any differently than regular distilled water?

Distilled water tastes like crap because of the lack on minerals and tastes flat because of the lack of air bubbles. Doing something to aerate the water will help a bunch.

hell, i can drink tap water all day and have no problems with it. imo, most people drink bottle water for the convience. there are many times i'm thirsty and can't find a drinking fountain around. hell, there's been times when i need to use the bathroom but can't find any bathrooms around, but that's another story. bottled water are more convient than water fountains in the same sense that cell phones are more convient than payphones, and unlocking your car door with a remote is more convient than manually unlocking it with the keys.
