Oh I can read alright. I can also 'read between the lines', which is more important.

As shown above, numbers stamped on a wheel mean very little. A 5 x 100 won't fit on our studs. You physically won't get them on. You could modify the wheels or studs to make them fit but it would be obvious and you haven't provided any evidence that this is required so what are we to think.

We have several people with these wheels that fit perfectly. We have examples of 5 x 100 stamped on these perfect fit wheels (along with 5 x 114). It's just a marking. They are 5 x 114 or they wouldn't go on.

We also have Mike offering to have the extended studs sent to you at his cost.

So what I 'read between the lines' from all this is that you are suffering from a combination of buyers remorse and paranoia.

Many people have piped up that they have dealt with Mike and things went well. And if they didn't go entirely to plan (exhaust gaskets) he went the extra mile to make it ok. So in the mind of any intelligent reader this thread has served to raise Mike's profile and make you look like a bit of a girls blouse. Nice one!

Today I spoke with Jim and Lee at tire rack on two different phone calls. I wanted to get both of their thoughts without them discussing it.

they both told me that if it says 5x100, it's not the right wheel for the car. I asked if it could possibly be a mis-stamp and they said it's a possibility. I told them about the threaded studs not extending out of the lug hole and they both stumbled on that one. Lee told me that in that instance, it isn't the right wheel. Jim told me that unless something is blocking and not going in all the way, threaded studs should extend out of the lug hole. He told me to check for any damaged/crumbed center rings and also to get a part # so we can match it up with his.

both told me that according to their computer, SSR makes (or made) 5x114.3 specifically for the car. I'll keep this posted. I'm sorry to make myself look like a girls blouse, but that's somewhat irrelevant to this thread. thanks for the thumbs up anyways...

There are pictures of wheel on the previous page with both 100 and 114 stamped on them. And they fit fine. So the above is demonstrably incorrect.

Also not true. I know of several wheels (ROH Adrenaline for example) where the studs do not protrude from the wheel when it is fitted correctly. The lugs are long and extend inside the wheel hole to bite on the thread.

I'm going to say it again BOTH 5 x 100 and 5 x 114 are cast into these wheels. But obviously will only fit one or the other.

Don't make me go out to my garage with my camera.
Well then the holes are obviously then made to fit both. Probably enlongated and that would explain everything. Is this the case with your wheels or not. I'm tired of getting half the story does it have both 5 x 100 and 5 x 114 cast into the wheels or not. if so leave us alone they fit the car fine.

The holes in the hub of the SSR GT-1 wheel are VERY deep. The lug nuts will be entirely recessed into the hub of the wheel. Not like the OEM wheels where the lugs are right out there in the open.

Do you realize how long those threads and lugs would need to be to have the lug sit outside the wheel like you want them to?

IF the wheels were 5 x 100 ........ THEY WOULDN'T EVEN FIT ON THE HUB.

These wheels are 5 x 114.

End of story.

thnx for the host. those are the only 3 pics i took before i took my camera back to best buy for a repair. they were dicks about using their computer and card reader, but i managed to borrow theirs by talking to the manager

you can't really see what the hole looks like from the front because it's really dark due to it being really deep...(about 3 inches)
